I’ve never actually met Steve Trenk in person, but our circles probably are much closer than we might think. I too grew up in New Jersey, in a small town named, Morris Township. Not too far, as the crow fly’s from where Steve spent his formative years. It’s ironic somehow that we both have endured the brunt of ‘jersey’ jokes. They are quite familiar to me, and it appears to Steve as well. Isn’t “Jersey in England”, is my usual reply to this crude, and closed-minded anachronism aimed at those who think they know New Jersey, but end up in their irrational description somewhere near the Meadowlands, or the vast salt flats leading nowhere, and piling up near a garbage dump. It’s probably from watching TV shows such as the Soprano’s or having their plane re-routed to Newark Airport, or maybe they got lost at rush hour by the Lincoln Tunnel. That’s too bad, because New Jersey is an incredibly diverse and in the context of beauty, an unusually unexploited place. Most Americans don’t know the real New Jersey, and that’s how I like it. At any rate, reading through Steve’s answers to my questions, brought me to a place of understanding of his own personal path to success. While mine took me to the culinary arts, a fresh pasta corporation, and the wine business. Steve used his brains to make something different. He took a path towards success and he made something really marvelous of himself. Steve Trenk, as you will discover works in the legal cannabis industry, which is exploding in popularity with this new found acceptance and de-stigmatization. The amount of brain power that powers its way through the intricacies of the legal cannabis industry is far, far removed the past, when we sold a few joints to our cannabis family at a Grateful Dead concert to stay, on the bus. Cannabis has evolved greatly and is pushing forwards into the Post-Modern Era. It’s “High” time to get on that bus again with these self-guiding, upper-intellectual industry leaders such as Steve Trenk. Located firmly at the helm in their own unique place in the cannabis universe. An experience of their own making, and therefore responsible for their own success, and the success of their investors. Thank you.

WB: Where are you from? What are you working on right now?
ST: I am proud to be a “Jersey Boy.” Obviously, in good company, and often the brunt of the overused “Turnpike jokes.” You have to love a place famous for Sinatra, The Boss, Meryl Streep, Shaq, the amazing beaches, the Sopranos and even beefsteak tomatoes. I’m originally from Livingston and South Orange, New Jersey. I have raised my children in Watchung, New Jersey. I moved to Manhattan about 15 years ago after marrying my wife Susan. I acquired my dream property about six years ago, around the time I became actively involved in the cannabis industry. I now spend as much time as possible in Scottsdale, Arizona. While in the Healthcare Services industry, I became a helicopter pilot, which led to decades in various aspects of the aviation industry. But, for the past six years, I’ve been exclusively involved in, and advocating for, the legal cannabis industry. Through Lizada Capital, which is my personal investment vehicle, I have invested in dozens of exciting cannabis companies and brands. Through an investment in Tech Holdings, I have developed a focus and a passion for solving the industry’s two greatest problems: (1) time to onset of the effects (medical & recreational) of infused products, and (2) elimination of undesired effects of THC.
That brings me to what I am doing right now! Along with a talented team we have created AntiDōs, a proprietary, fast acting elixir that eliminates the psychoactive effects of THC and provides a calming, euphoric feeling. This new product will allow medical patients to tolerate higher therapeutic doses of cannabis products. It will also allow recreational users to control their experience, to resolve an inadvertent over indulgence, or to simply end the experience at any time for any reason! We expect AntiDōs to hit the market this spring and I think it will be a game changer!
WB: Tell me about your company? Where do you see your biz six months from now? A year?
ST: Well, I have to address that in two parts:
– Lizada Capital has many exciting things going on and Tech Holdings eclipses most of them. (So, I’ll address that next).
We have taken a position in Mochi Holdings, a diversified multi-licensed operator positioned to take advantage of the many opportunities in the California. I’m working with the family of the late, great Peter Tosh, widely recognized for his human rights and cannabis legalization advocacy, to develop a curated brand called SEEN by Peter Tosh, to honor his legacy. With dozens of broadly diversified positions in the cannabis space, we expect to ride the tide as it continues to rise.
– Tech Holdings isn’t like most cannabis companies. I say that because we have developed and patented a proprietary technology that allows our Quigley’s branded THC-infused products and The Gold Q branded CBD-infused products to take full effect within seconds, not hours. The formula is quite astonishing actually. We see these brands and underlying product lines rapidly becoming household names, and hugely successful because of their unique, fast-acting characteristics and broad consumer appeal.
WB: Do you cook? Who taught you? Mother? Father? Television cooking shows?
ST: I don’t really cook. I can barbecue and I can operate a microwave oven. I prefer to enjoy my wife’s cooking whenever possible. She also tends to make healthier choices for both of us than I would make, left to my own devices. I am always interested in trying recipes, both beverages and food, with CBD added! It’s a new way of cooking!
WB: Medical or recreational? Testing? Terroir? Indoor or outdoor?
ST: Even before I thought about involvement in the industry, I was no stranger to the plant. I started late, the end of high school, to impress a girl I was interested in. I only got high that one time in the next ten years. Then, after embarking on this new career, I started to experiment again. I continued my education when adult use in Colorado was legalized and discovered the medical benefits while treating a back injury. I met my business partner, Tony Alfiere (the inventor of our proprietary technology), at an ArcView meeting several years ago and the rest is history. Meeting Tony led to the creation of Tech Holdings. In addition to AntiDĹŤs, the Quigley’s brand of THC infused products is designed for the medical and adult use markets and are uniquely fast-acting to produce reliable, repeatable effects. The Gold Q skin care and wellness products have been designed for women and men of all ages.
WB: Is there any place you’d like to be right now? Doing what? With whom?
ST: If I could go back in time, but not too far, I would probably be riding a tour bus and traveling the world with someone like Paul McCartney or Willie Nelson at the formative stages of their careers. I would love to experience firsthand the profound and inspirational effects they realized from the amazing cannabis plant, which they both used to influence profound positive change.
Absent a time machine, I’ve always been a cowboy at heart, and being at home in Scottsdale, riding my horses, with my wife working on her amazing, socially conscious, contemporary art is my ideal. That to me, is living the dream!
